Susannah Williams was born in 1879 in Wrexham, Denbighshire, Wales. She was the daughter of Robert Edward Williams and Mary Ellen Plunkett. She married John Gordon Burness, son of Alexander Burness and Helen Gordon, on 29 December 1898 in Conservative Hall, Motherwell, Lanarkshire, Scotland. She died on 19 November 1953 in 41 Grasmere Road, Barnehurst, Crayford, Kent, England.
