He married Barbara Hall, daughter of David Hall and Barbara Watt, circa 1835 in Fettercairn, Kincardineshire, Scotland. He died on 11 January 1860 in Auchenblae, Fordoun, Kincardineshire, Scotland, at age 56. He was buried in Fordoun, Kincardineshire, Scotland.

He married Mary Hall, daughter of David Hall and Barbara Watt, in Fettercairn, Kincardineshire, Scotland. He died on 16 July 1877 in Manse of Rickarton, Fetteresso, Kincardineshire, Scotland, at age 68. He was buried in Fordoun, Kincardineshire, Scotland.

     James Reith was born on 29 April 1814 in Tipperty, Fordoun, Kincardineshire, Scotland. He was the son of John Reith and Jean Burness. He married Elspet Burness, daughter of George Burness and Nicholas Tait, on 24 October 1849 in Kintore, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He died on 27 May 1898 in Myreside, Marnoch, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 84.
