     Thomas Burness was born on 17 March 1817 in Mains of Castleton, Fordoun, Kincardineshire, Scotland. He was the son of William Burness and Mary Brand. He married Frances Anne Troy, daughter of James Troy and Mary Ann Walsh, on 20 September 1852 in Goulburn Roman Catholic, Boro, New South Wales, Australia. He died on 8 January 1886 in High Street, West Maitland, New South Wales, Australia, at age 68.

     David Burness was baptized on 20 May 1788 in Mains of Glenfarquhar, Fordoun, Kincardineshire, Scotland. He was the son of Alexander Burness and Jean Ross. He married Elizabeth Merchant, daughter of William Merchant and Ann Brand. He died on 25 November 1856 in Bridge of Cowie, Stonehaven, Kincardineshire, Scotland, at age 68. He was buried in Fetteresso, Kincardineshire, Scotland.

     William Burness was baptized on 25 December 1784 in Mains of Glenfarquhar, Fordoun, Kincardineshire, Scotland. He was the son of Alexander Burness and Jean Ross. He married Mary Brand, daughter of Thomas Brand and Isobel Watson, on 13 September 1807 in Fordoun, Kincardineshire, Scotland. He died on 5 January 1856 in Redford, Garvock, Kincardineshire, Scotland, at age 71. He was buried in Marykirk, Kincardineshire, Scotland.

     Mary Burness was born on 4 June 1813 in Mains of Castleton, Fordoun, Kincardineshire, Scotland. She was the daughter of William Burness and Mary Brand.

     Charles Burness was baptized on 29 April 1828 in East Bradieston, Garvock, Kincardineshire, Scotland. He was the son of William Burness and Mary Brand. He married Mary Hitchcock on 17 February 1858 in Barngella, Burrier Flat, Shoalhaven, New South Wales, Australia. He died on 24 May 1905 in 4 Buckingham Street, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, at age 77.

     Jean Burness was baptized on 19 June 1786 in Mains of Glenfarquhar, Fordoun, Kincardineshire, Scotland. She was the daughter of Alexander Burness and Jean Ross. She died in 1804. She was buried in Marykirk, Kincardineshire, Scotland.
