     William Lumsden Burness was born on 25 April 1888 in Knockespock, Clatt, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of Alexander Burness and Elizabeth Lumsden.1,2 He married Flora Dargie Mills on 27 July 1915 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.3,4 He married Lena Wilhelmina Lee on 29 November 1922 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.4 He died on 28 May 1954 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, at age 66. He was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
